Daily Schedule

9:00 - 9:30 School children arrive; inside activities, drawing, independent choice
9:30 - 10:15 Circle time: Calendar, weather, letter of the week, sharing, discuss events of the day, read a book
10:15 - 10:45 Snack: provided by parents; prepared and served with help by children
10:45 - 11:15 Outside play, usually at nearby Lowell Playfield
11:15 - 11:45 Daily Activity/Lesson: Children in one group or divided into two groups for open-ended activities/lessons. A developmentally appropriate teaching approach is used to integrate the current unit study with language experiences, art, math, science and dramatic movement.
11:45 - 12:00 Reading Books
12:00 Morning children leave
12:00 - 12:30 Lunch: Focus on eating for health, charting foods & sharing conversation
12:30 - 1:00 Outside play
1:00 - 1:30 Lunch kids leave. Rest time: quiet rest, read books, listen to audio tapes
1:30 - 2:30 Individual / Group Project: Focus on current unit study; opportunity for more elaborate art/science projects
2:30 - 3:00 Snack and outside play; prepare to leave
